When you submit the contact form on the About page, we collect the information you provide: your name, email address, phone number (optional), and the content of your message. This data is used solely to respond to your enquiry and is not shared with third parties.

2.2 Server logs

Our web server automatically records standard access log data including IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, and pages visited. This data is retained for up to 30 days for security and diagnostic purposes and is not linked to individual user accounts or used for profiling.

2.3 Cookies

We use a single functional cookie to record whether you have accepted or rejected our cookie notice. This cookie does not track you across websites and contains no personal information beyond your consent decision. It expires after 365 days (accept) or 30 days (reject).

We do not use analytics cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party tracking pixels. No data is shared with advertising networks.

3. Legal basis for processing

Contact form data is processed on the basis of your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)) as expressed by submitting the form. Server logs are processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in maintaining site security (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). Contact form submissions are retained for up to 12 months from the date of receipt, after which they are permanently deleted unless an ongoing correspondence requires longer retention. Server logs are retained for 30 days. The cookie consent record is stored locally in your browser and is not transmitted to our servers.

The Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy governs any data collected in connection with those requests. We do not use any other third-party content delivery networks, embedded social media, or external scripts.

7. Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Contact form data is transmitted encrypted. We do not store payment information; no e-commerce functionality is present on this site.
